Created in September 2015 the blog was a hobby that ended up becoming serious during 2016. From Mar/16 to Jul/17 the blog had more than 100k hits/month, some texts have more than 4mi views. That’s why he created an e-commerce store selling excerpts of the blog texts. Nowadays it is no longer as active as before and is only updated on Instagram – @umquartodepalavras -, but even so, it sustains 4k views per month here. There are more than 600 of my texts written and posted in the last 6 years.

The name is a wordplay in Portuguese, here “um quarto” means “a quarter” and “room”, the idea is to use a traditional saying in Portuguese “Para bom entendedor meia palavra basta” and complement – “para nós basta um quarto” – in literal translation: For a good “understander” half word is enough, for us, a quarter is enough.

“Para bom entendedor meia palavra basta” means that clever people do not need everything to be told directly to them—they are sensible enough to realize and understand situations without an obvious explanation.
